I'm about to say something that in 64 years I never thought I'd say or see. AnalogAlley is closing. Not because it's not profitable but because it must move. It's unbeliveable for me to consider that American bankers and Politicians will allow a profitable business to die while throwing Hundreds of Billions of dollars into the economic areas that have, for the most part, caused our current economic fiasco!
For Two months I've been unable to get any California Bankers to even return my calls let alone accept applications for a loan for $10,000 in order to move the business plus some minor startup capital.
Two Congressmen, Brownback (KS) and McCarthy (CA) have chosen to ignore my supplications for information, contacts or any assistance. The SBA (Small Business Administration) in Los Angeles, Washington, DC and "help line" have been totally worthless. Reams of PolitiSpeak but no information, no assistance, nothing.
No, I've not asked for a handout only a chance to apply for a loan. I'd take my chances on the outcome of an application. Instead I've been told (and this is a quote) "I can get you $200,000 easier than $10,000 or $15,000."
I'd like to thank all the visitors and especially those of you who've purchased manuals from me over the past year. My main regret is all the manuals will need to be destroyed (dumpster or recycled paper) as I must move the business from the basement of the house as it goes to the soon to be ex-wife in the divorce but she's not the "bad" person.
Yes, I'm still operating and will be (probably) into early January but the manuals have to start going away while I still have some time.
With much regret, John
